Nick and his team welcome you to the Travellers Rest which lies alongside the old ‘Fosseway’ Roman road and provides a welcome break for travellers using the A37. It is located 8 miles south of Shepton Mallet in the hamlet of Stone.

Originally a coaching inn, the Travellers Rest is now a traditional country pub with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

In spring and summer the numerous planters and many hanging baskets which adorn the pub create an attractive, colourful and very welcoming feature. The well tended garden provides a pleasant area in which to enjoy drinks and food.

In autumn and winter, the warm and cosy atmosphere inside the pub is boosted by a roaring log fire and the chatter of ‘locals’ who may be playing a game of skittles, pool, darts or just enjoying an evening ‘down the pub’ with friends.

There is always something going on at the Travellers Rest such as skittles, live music, harvest festivals etc – please see our What’s On Page for details.

Enjoy all your traditional, homemade pub favourites, specialising in steaks.
Our tasty Sunday roasts are very popular – please book to avoid disappointment..

Enjoy a relaxing night’s sleep in our comfortable twin rooms which are situated in the converted hayloft and accessed via a separate entrance.

There are many places to visit and activities to do around and about the Travellers Rest. Please see a few that we think you will enjoy.
